Costa Rica Wildfishing

Fly into Liberia, Costa Rica where you will be met by one of our representatives and taken immediately to your private transfer. Before you depart you will receive all of your vouchers and in-country information then go over the itinerary one more time to see if you have any questions. When you are ready we will take you directly to your beach resort, a beautiful resort in the area. Here you will stay in your own private bungalow overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Papagayo. The recently renovated hotel offers amazing views of the ocean and incredible sunsets.
Day 2:
You will be picked up right at your hotel and taken down into the cove to Potrero Beach. Your guide for the day is Ralph, a native Costa Rican who loves fishing as much as anyone you can ever meet. He’ll give you a quick tutorial on how to kayak fish and then you’ll head out in your 11.5 foot Hobie Kayaks. You will begin by trolling as you paddle out of Ocotal and along the coast to Punta Gorda. As soon as you see any birds dive bombing or a school of jumping sardines make your way over there and begin casting. As soon as you get hooked up you’ll see what makes this new sport so fun. You will slowly get towed around as you bring the fish closer to the kayak before you flop in it and release it. Truly a man vs. beast experience!
Day 3:
Go out kayak fishing! Now that you’ve got the hang of it you can try the same hot spots you found yesterday or ask Ralph to take you to some of his favorite spots
Day 4:
This day is yours! Your muscles may be sore from paddling and fighting roosterfish or those powerful jacks so you can use this day to rest and recuperate. Hang out at the pool or enjoy one of the best beaches in Costa Rica’s gold coast.
Day 5:
Kayak fishing! If you are wanting to try something new just ask Ralph to show you what surf casting is all about – he’s won several surf casting tournaments and knows the best spots.
Day 6:
Experience one of Costa Rica’s most exciting and unique tours. You will be picked up at your hotel early in the morning and taken to the Rincon de La Vieja National Park. This tour includes a nature hike or Land Rover cruise, a natural hot mud bath, thermal hot springs, and one of the best canopy zip-line tours in the country.
Day 7:
Your last day of fishing – make it a good one!
Day 8:
You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the LIR Airport in a private transfer for your international flight home.
