I’m Capt. TJ Cheek and I am a full time fishing guide serving St. Simons Island, Sea Island, and Jekyll Island Georgia. I have been fishing these waters my entire life and I spend over 200 days per year on the water now. My passion is light tackle fishing the inshore and nearshore waters of St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and Cumberland Island. Whether on fly or spin tackle, tailing redfish or Spinner Sharks, I’m ready to help you meet your goals and make your St. Simons fishing trip a memorable one. I promise you a clean boat, good tackle, and a good attitude.
I have seen years of changes… hot summers, cold winters, huge tides, hurricanes, shifting sandbars, silted in creeks, good spawns, bad spawns, and I still learn something on every trip. These years translate into less guessing and more catching for you. The thing that separates good fishermen from the rest is time on the water and I put my time in to make sure that you have a good time.
I believe in being a courteous and patient guide. If you want me to bait your hook, cast your line, and bring you drinks… I am happy to do so. If you just want me to back off, shut up, and let you fish… I’m good with that too! I am always ready to give you patient instruction but I also realize that you are here to have a good time and not feel pressured to be perfect on every cast or hook set.
